In honor of International Day of Charity, we would like to highlight an organization that we hold very close to our hearts, charity: water.
To those of us that have accessible water, it is easy to take it for granted. We rarely think twice about having enough water to stay hydrated, shower, wash our hands or cook… Yet the reality is that today, the WHO and UNICEF estimates that 2.1 billion people around the world do not have access to clean water in their own home. This results in more than 361,000 children under 5 years of age dying from diseases stemming from poor sanitation conditions.
charity: water, founded by Scott Harrison in 2006, involves governments and communities to solve the water issue together in a sustainable manner. By partnering with local organizations currently developing water projects, charity: water is working to ensure that clean water will flow for years to come. Since its inception, the organization has funded more than 28,000 water projects around the world, providing clean water to 8.2 million people globally.
charity: water is on a mission to change these lives, one drop at a time.
What is even more amazing is that 100% of all donations go to bringing water to someone that needs it so you can rest easy knowing that your contribution, no matter how big or small, made an impact today.
Raindrops is a proud supporter of charity: water.
